 Parents Area : Rewards System
The school has a comprehensive reward system based upon the principle of rewarding children who make a special effort to do something they find difficult. We try to encourage children to try things that don't necessarily come easy, in this way children learn to strive to achieve and learn that it takes effort and practice to achieve a worthwhile outcome.
Star Learners
Our system is based upon Star Learners. Children are given Star learners for outstanding achievements or efforts across a range of areas in school. We aim to focus on what the child has done well and then send the Star Learner home with the child so that they can share their success with their parents or carers.
The Star learners that children achieve are counted up and childen can achieve even greater rewards for sustained efforts and consistent good work or special behaviour. If children achieve 10 Star Learners they are given a Bronze Certificate, 25 Star learners make up to a Silver certificate and 50 Star learners enable the child to be rewarded with a Gold Certificate. These very special awards are given out in whole school assemblies at the end of each month.
The Star learner system starts all over again at the beginning of the next school year.
Colour Rules
Our behaviour reward system is based upon our 5 Colour Rules. Our 5 Colour Rules are as follows:
1 To speak politely to all members of the school community; Green
2 To listen and respond to instructions the first time they are asked, from all adults in the school; Blue
3 To be kind and helpful to all memners of the school community Yellow
4 To be honest and always tell the truth Red
5 To look after property and the school environment; Orange
Children are given "Colour Cards" when they are caugth being good by following any of the above 5 Colour Rules.
Any member of staff can give out the cards and consequently all staff have the opportunity to reward good behaviour. The Colour Cards add up to Star learners. Three Colour Cards equal one Star learner.
The cards say:

I listen well
I am kind and helpful
I always tell the truth
I look after things well
